Choreography ; Gunhild Björnsgaard
Dancers ; Victoria Sogn, Lone Torvik.
The Ibsenfestival 2004 - Nationaltheatret/ Malersalen
The performance is inspired by Irene in "When we dead awake....." of Henrik Ibsen. Irene, as a model, was dedicated to and imprisoned by the artist, Rubek, who made a sculpture of her. She was strongly in love, but he couldn’t received it. He took her soul, which, for him was the indispensable ingredient of creation but for Irene an ever-lasting tragedy.
The movement language (choreographer) has been inspired by the various models used in the paintings by Egon Schiele.
